Lucky Craft's new Fat CB is a non-rattle bait with our "air floating concept". Thanks to optimized buoyancy made possible through the use of an intricate internal structure, this plastic crankbait behaves like a balsa wood lure and delivers outstanding obstacle deflection. The lip design and hook positions are specifically designed to come through the thickest of cover. Also, the weight of this lure is intentionally fixed for quick recovery, after the bait hits an object to come back to the center of the retrieve. In addition, the Fat CB is crafted larger, creating a wide wobble and rolling action to attract fish in a wide spread area.

At 2 inches in length and 1/4-ounce in weight, the BDS-1 is the smallest crankbait in the Fat CB BDS line.
Wood baits of this similar size can be difficult to throw on casting tackle, but the BDS-1 is weighted critically to allow for accurate casts in the breeziest of conditions while still maintaining the perfect buoyancy that mimics balsa.
“Like others in the BDS line, the BDS-1 is good any time the fish are in shallow stained water, no matter the season,” says Gerald Swindle. “What sets the BDS-1 apart, other than its size, is it has a skinnier, tighter wobble so I crank it faster than I do the other BDS baits.”
“To me it’s more of a speed-reaction bait,” he adds. “Something you can zing into a stump or laydown and pause, like a panicked shad that smacked a stump. I really like it around docks and floating piers. I’ll throw it under a dock or down a pier and crank it fast – right into a post – and then pause it.
Swindle fishes the BDS-1 on 10-pound line spooled to casting tackle with a 5.1:1 ratio reel and a 6-1/2 foot glass rod.
“You can throw it on 12- to 15-pound test line,” he says. “But I like it on 10-pound line because that allows the bait to dive to about 3 feet.”
