Costa Mesa, Calif. (March 9, 2006) – Lucky Craft Lures has partnered with Redfish Nation as an official sponsor of this year’s ‘Oh Boy! Oberto Redfish Cup’ presented by Frogg Toggs. Lucky Craft will have on-site displays this season and will provide samples and giveaways throughout the tournament weekend. Regional pro-staff will also be on hand to talk to fans, answer questions and explain Lucky Craft baits.
“We are very excited to be an official sponsor of this year’s ‘Oh Boy! Oberto Redfish Cup,’” said Minoru Segawa, president of Lucky Craft USA. “This sponsorship is a great fit for Lucky Craft as we continue pursuing new markets.”
It is a unique and interesting partnership in deed, as Lucky Craft has developed a strong presence and brand loyalty in freshwater fishing and is looking to do the same in the saltwater fishing industry. Lucky Craft is determined to engineer products that suit any possible condition. Many professional bass anglers use Lucky Craft lures because of their quality, durability and castability – all qualities and characteristics that make an easy transition from freshwater to saltwater fishing. Many saltwater baits are now a part of the Lucky Craft repertoire: the Saltwater (SW) Sammy series, SW Pointer series, SW Flash Minnow series, SW Lipless Pointer and SW Lipless Slim Pointer,’ which is similar to the dominate Pointer series used in bass fishing. Lucky Craft has also created 14 new saltwater-specific colors, including the popular ‘Zebra Sardine,’ ‘Salty Ghost Nishiki’ and ‘Ghost Pink Sardine.’ The popularity of these baits is increasing as anglers realize their quality. “In 2001, saltwater fishing attracted 9.1 million anglers who spent $8.4 billion on their trips and equipment*,” said Segawa. “We here at Lucky Craft know there are many opportunities in the saltwater fishing industry. We are happy to be involved and happy to be sharing our saltwater adventures with Redfish Nation. We look forward to seeing you out there on the tour.” *Information from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s ‘2001 National Survey of Fishing, Hunting and Wildlife-Associated Recreation.’
