Huntersville, N.C. (June 12, 2007) – The inaugural year of the Bassmaster Elite Series captured the hearts and imagination of the bass fishing world.

Released in December 2006, that excitement and drama has been chronicled in a 168-page hardback book entitled “The Series – A Photographic Look at the Inaugural Bassmaster Elite Series.” Compiled by photographers Doug Cox and Steve Bowman, “The Series” is a one-of-a-kind book that captures the action, excitement and intimate moments of the 2006 Bassmaster Elite Series season in more than 800 high-quality color images – and according to many Elite Series anglers, it will make the perfect Father’s Day gift.

“If you’re a fan of the sport, this book is the most beautiful, breathtaking and emotional book I have ever seen on the market,” said Skeet Reese, the California resident and current leader of the 2007 Angler of the Year race. “You can have it forever. The images in the book capture the emotion, excitement and drama of the very first Elite Series season. It’s phenomenal and I think it is a great Father’s Day gift idea.”
Cox and Bowman, veteran photographers of Bassmaster competitions as well as father’s themselves, collaborated with BASS on the book that follows the Bassmaster Elite Series from the 2006 Bassmaster Classic on Lake Toho, Fla., to the final Elite Series event on Table Rock Lake in Missouri. Each tournament is highlighted with a plethora of photos capturing not only the highest level of competition, but also the touching behind the scenes moments rarely seen by bass fishing fans.
In addition to the obvious images of anglers catching fish, hoisting trophies and hugging family members, the book includes many other images the duo felt were important to the overall feel of the tournament season. The stories and stats woven through “The Series” are a complete record of the season.
“The book is the first of it’s kind,” Elite angler said. “It is history-making and covers the sport from behind-the-scenes. There are images in the book that most people would never see. Some of the images even caught us off-guard. There was no pose, no studio, no set. The book shows raw and pure emotion. It’s awesome, and as a fan and a father, I would be more than happy to receive this book for Father’s Day.”
“The Series” highlights the victories and defeats in a timeless book for fans and anglers alike. From Michael Iaconelli’s storybook season to Preston Clark’s unbelievable record at Santee Cooper Reservoir, “The Series” is packed with images from every day of competition during the 15-event season.
