APPLING, Ga. (May 9, 2006) – One of Lucky Craft’s newest creations, the Flat Mini, played a major role in the great finishes enjoyed by many of the top-flight professionals competing in this past week’s CITGO Bassmaster Elite Series tournament held on the Clarks Hill Reservoir.

>>>Jeff Reynolds |
Jeff Reynolds was one of those anglers, who grabbed the ninth slot after catching his big fish on the Flat Mini DR in Chartreuse Shad. After being introduced to the market in the latter part of 2005, the Flat Mini has become a mainstay in many a professional angler’s tackle box. But this past weekend’s Elite Series event was a real breakthrough for this versatile new offering. Reynolds talked about the story behind his weekend’s success.
“Gerald Swindle gave one to me in practice and I caught a bunch of fish first thing in the morning with it,” said the Oklahoma angler. “It worked up until about 9 am, where the bite tapered off a little. In fact, I caught my two biggest fish of the tournament on this lure – a six pounder and a five and half pounder.
“I would fish it real shallow and it’s the only lure I had this weekend that was in the right color,” Reynolds continued. “Man, when they ate that thing – they crushed it. It’s an awesome lure because it was perfect for what we were throwing this weekend. It runs about six feet and really got the job done.”

>>>Flat Mini Series |
The Flat Mini, which runs at three depths, SR (Shallow), MR (Medium) and DR (Deep), is a two-inch lure that fills a much-needed void in the shallow crankbait arena.
But the real benefit to this lure is it’s unique screw of water flow generated from its flat sides, ensuring the best action in the marketplace. Finished in a wide variety of colors, the Flat Mini offers the durability, reliability and castability that Lucky Craft is always known for.

>>>Gerald Swindle |
Now, Lucky Craft Pro Staff member Gerald Swindle didn’t let Reynolds have all the fun, as he also used a variety of Lucky Craft lures to earn the 14th spot on Clarks Hill.
“Everybody here threw the Lucky Craft Gunfish, the LVR D-7 and the three-hook Sammy,” said Swindle, on what the field used for the topwater bite. “But I also threw the Flat Mini, and it worked well out here. It really was a Lucky Craft tournament. The best colors have been Chartreuse Shad, Laser Clear Ghost and Ghost Minnow and they all worked well due to all the changes throughout the tournament.”
